At Heroic Labs, I’ve built high throughput servers in Go for studios in the games industry for the last 3 years. This includes architecting the cloud infrastructure for very large studios using primarily Kubernetes. Before this I worked at a big-data company called VisualDNA and was responsible for designing a distributed, realtime event processing pipeline and all its cloud components.
I'd like to share some of the experiences I've had as we've built Nakama, and running it for various studios in the world. The talk will offer an introduction to Kubernetes and Docker, options available inside k8s to run your application, how to setup world servers and Unity/Unreal headless instances, accepting TCP/UDP traffic inside the cluster and more.
