Having committed the egregious sin of doing poorly in school as a Singaporean, Ian started work at an early age and only returned to his studies at 23, receiving a scholarship (as well as a few Crowbar Awards along the way) for an Advertising diploma at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. His second year of study, in 2010, marked Ian’s co-founding of indie game development company Witching Hour Studios with two of his close friends. Eight years on, Witching Hour has garnered awards and international recognition for their games. In that time, Ian has also co-founded Battlebrew Productions, a mobile-focused game studio, while consulting with various companies on game design, marketing, events and Kickstarters – the latter of which he has successfully overfunded two projects. Meshing both his passions in education and gaming, he spends his time engaging with schools, government agencies and industry partners to proliferate the local game industry. Aside from Witching Hour and industry endeavours, Ian can be found at the head of a Dungeons & Dragons table or elbow-deep in Lego.
